We have surfed Anon Url today for a while and checked it out using the popular social bookmarking sites.  Anon Url delivers on all with its functionality.  Most web proxies do not allow for viewing of YouTube videos, this proxy does however.

In this age of information collection overload there are still some ways to travel the world wide web without having to leave your personal information everywhere you go. The use of proxy servers has been developed to give at least one layer of protection against those who would assimilate this information to your detriment. Basically a proxy server is a server computer or application program that will take your request for a website address or information and send it on to the originating server without attaching your IP address to the data stream.

It is not a perfect system. There are some aspects of web surfing that are limited or entirely disabled when you use a proxy server instead of accessing the internet directly. By their very nature a proxy server will deny data cookies. While this is good in that your further usage cannot be tracked through it, it will mean having to re-register at a site every time you view it. Today’s review is for the Free Web Proxy Long Tunnel.

Many proxies these days do not keep up with the current technolgoy and sites like YouTube, MySpace, Bebo, Hi5, Orkut, etc do not fully function. Upon logging into Long Tunnel Free Web Proxy I was able to view videos on YouTube, Log in and post a bulletin on MySpace. I did not try the other sites, but my guess is this cgi and php based proxy works with those as well.

Normally when we review proxies it is more about functionality then appearance. So we will usually leave that part out.

This proxy had great speed and sites loaded fast.

This free web proxy does not boast any fancy designs but it is fast and works well.

Able to view YouTube videos, can send bulletins in Myspace.
